מפגש עם הסופרת אדל גרס 

On VE day, May 8th, we were lucky to host the author Adèle Geras at Alumot, for a talk about the Kindertrasport. She spoke to a full room of teens (aged 11-16) about her children's book A Candle in the Dark, a fictional story focusing on a child refugee as well as the hosting family. Adèle talked about how the story came to be, about writing books and her life experience. The talk was lively and engaging and there were many fascinating questions from the group. 

This is a first meeting in what will be a series of events organised for the teenagers of Alumot, on the topic of the Kindertransport, which will culminate in a visit to the new 'Safe Haven' statue and memorial in Harwich, the initial point of arrival for the Jewish children refugees fleeing Europe the Nazis before, on the eve of World War II.
